There are no protocol requirements for to the way that the lungs are procured. However, we do have a \u201cLung Retrieval and Preservation for EVLP\u201d<\/a> reference that has recommendations for lung retrieval specifically for EVLP.<\/p> \u2022 Long pulmonary artery<\/p> \u2022 Large left atrial cuff<\/p> \u2022 Long trachea<\/p> It is recommended to review and share with your colleagues who perform the lung retrieval.<\/p><\/div><\/div> Lung Retrieval and Preservation for EVLP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>Download<\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> The transplant center and\/or OPO is responsible for local ground transportation at LBE. If for whatever reason transportation arrangements cannot be made expeditiously, Lung Bioengineering is able to assist in air and ground transportation logistics. All transportation costs are covered by LBE.
